Takeaway on Android
The long awaited takeaway feature is now available for Android.
With that being said, it means you will not need to go through workarounds to create a takeaway order at your Android register anymore!
Let's see how it works.
Setting Up
Step 1.
Go to BackOffice > Settings > Account > F&B, then Enable Takeaway.
Once Takeaway is enabled, you will see the option to input Additional Takeaway Charge, which is an optional field.
Regarding tax, service charge, and discount for additional takeaway charge, please refer to the table below.
Order Type | Additional Takeaway Charge |
Takeaway - Whole Order Takeaway |
|
Table Layout - Whole Order Takeaway |
|
Dine-In - Specific Item Takeaway |
|

|
Note: Service charge will automatically apply for service-chargeable orders.
If you do not wish to apply service charge for service-chargeable orders, you may try workarounds such as creating two orders to separate dine-in and takeaway items.
Tax for additional takeaway charge depends on the Default Tax selected at the BackOffice.
If no tax is selected, tax will not apply for additional takeaway charge.
If default tax is selected, tax will apply for additional takeaway charge.
In the example below, SST: 6.00% is selected as the default tax.
Step 2.
Go to Settings > Account > General, choose to group or ungroup Multiples of the Same Item.
For instance, if Item A has been added to an order for three (3) times:
- Group - you will see one (1) '3 Item As' in the order
- In this case, itemised actions (e.g. takeaway by single item) will not apply
- Group actions (e.g. takeaway by items in group) can be applied
- Ungroup - you will see three (3) '1 Item A' in the order
- In this case, itemised actions (e.g. takeaway by single item) can be applied
