Introduction
This article is to guide you on setting up the Bixolon Printer, which can print labels (they're especially useful for bubble tea businesses)!
Important: Generating barcodes with Bixolon is not supported on macOS (for Mac computers). The barcodes can be generated on Microsoft Windows (recommended), and on iPadOS and Android (not recommended since iPadOS and Android setup steps are more complicated to generate barcodes).
Part I: Sticker Setup
Step 1.
Slide the two side tabs on the printer in the shown direction.
Step 2.
Stretch the sticker roll holders and insert the roll between holders and let go to allow the spring to clamp the roll in place.
Step 3.
Slide the roll into the L-shaped paper guides and close the lid ensuring a little piece of the label sticks out. Wait until the green/yellow LED stops flashing and press the Feed button.
Step 4.
Plug both power and USB cables into their respective ports. Flip the power switch on the left side of the printer.
Step 5.
Download the LabelArtist program for Windows here.
Alternatively, both Android and iOS use the same app called “Bixolon: Label Artist”. You can search the app on AppStore and Google Play Store. Download the app to begin managing/editing your barcode labels.
Step 6.
Ensure that your Bixolon printer is plugged in and turned on. Now launch the app. It should automatically detect the printer and tap “OK” when a prompt pops up.
