Introduction
If you're wanting to enable some Promotions for your Online Store, we've rolled out a few different types for you to get started!
Note: More promotion types for the Online Store will be released in stages.
Promo Codes
Our latest Promotion feature for the Online Store is 'Promo Codes'.
These are codes that your customers can type in when they checkout on your Online Store, which then triggers a discount for them. e.g. 'FREESHIPMAY', or 'SHIRTS20'.
These are the promotional methods available for Online Store:
- Free Shipping
- Take Percentage Off
- Take Amount Off
A single promotion can be created to manage both your Online Store and offline sales.
However, the sales reporting is still displayed separately (your Online Store’s report is via Export CSV on the Order Management page).
How to set up Promo Codes
Step 1.
Go to your BackOffice > Promotions > Manage Promotions page.
Step 2.
Create a new Promotion or Edit an existing one.
Make sure your promo code is inserted and the checkboxes for Apply to Channel > Online Store is ticked.
Note: Where it says 'Apply to Stores' please choose only your Online Store to avoid conflict with your physical store (if applicable).
Step 3.
Choose the relevant Promotion type applicable to only your Online Store. Currently, we have Take Percentage Off, Take Amount Off and Free Shipping.
Step 4.
Don't forget to Save!
How Promo Codes work for your customers
During the checkout process, the ability for customers to enter promo codes will show up when they view their shopping cart. Your customers would then need to enter the promo code(s) and click 'Apply' which will then trigger the promotion.
How you communicate your promo codes to your customers is entirely up to you!
You can do it via sending SMS in bulk, by announcing the promo code as a banner on your Online Store or you could also create a webpage on your store to list down all the promo codes!
