Introduction
This is an add-on to the article 'How to Use the DYMO LabelWriter Printer'.
Using the DYMO LabelWriter Software
Step 1.
Open DYMO Label Software and create your label design with the fields from your Excel Spreadsheet (for example Product name, Barcode, Price).
The labels provided in the box would usually be 'Shelving' or 'Address', but the size sold by StoreHub would be 'Medium 32mm x 57mm'. Make sure you have chosen the correct size.
You may choose a preset label layout by clicking on the arrow (next to the (i) symbol) or you could also click on 'Insert' to customize your own label objects to be included in the label.
Double click on the barcode and ensure that the 'Symbology' is selected as 'Code 128 Auto' (this is our supported format).
Step 2.
Import the Excel Spreadsheet you want to use in the DYMO Label Software and arrange the data on the label.
Click on File > Import Data and Print > New.
Click on 'OK' at the 'Getting Started' page, you can also tick on 'Don't show this page again' if you do not want it to show moving forward.
Upload your selected Excel file > make sure you've selected the correct layout > click 'Next'.
Arrange your Data Fields on the Label Layout. Once done > click 'Next'.
Select the Data / Label that you wish to Print > Click on Print.
**Please take note that it is by design of the DYMO software that we can't print multiple copies of the same label at one go. If you want to print multiple copies of the same label, please refer to the below workarounds:
The first workaround would be to (manually) customize the barcode in the main page itself > set the copies to 5 (for example) > Print.
When you open the DYMO software, insert the label options of your choice, then click / double click into them to edit.
Double click the barcode and this will pop up. Here, select the 'Symbology' as 'Code 128 Auto' and then input your barcode > OK.
Now, key in the number of copies to print > click Print.
The second workaround would be to add duplicate rows of the product in your Excel file itself, so that the software would assume that they are all different products.
Copy and paste the product that needs more than 1 barcode. For the example above, we want to print 5 same barcodes at one time. Next, save the Excel file.
Open the DYMO software > insert the label objects of your choice.
Then go to File > Import Data and Print > New.
Click on Next if you see this 'Getting Started' page.
Upload your selected Excel file > make sure you've selected the correct layout > click Next.
Drag / click on the field to the relevant boxes - you may refer to the preview section > click Next.
Now you can see all 5 of the same products are in the list. When you click Print, all 5 barcodes would be printed out at the same time.
That's it!
