Want your customers to see what they're ordering? You can now use a customer-facing display on a tablet for their convenience!
1. What is a Customer-Facing Display?
The Customer-Facing Display is essentially a secondary screen to display orders and promotions.
With a customer-facing display, you're able to show:
- Ordered items
- Total amount
- Customer information
- Store Credit balance
2. Which devices are supported?
To use the Customer-Facing Display, you will need:
An iPad 4th Generation and above; OR
An Android Tablet (version 5 and above)
3. How do I use the Customer Facing Display?
To start using this feature, you must first meet the following requirements.
3.1 Requirements and Steps
Step 1.
Download the StoreHub POS app (must be version 2.17.0 and above)
Step 2.
Download the StoreHub Customer Facing Display app (via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store)
Step 3.
Ensure your iPad register and the other customer-facing display tablet is connected to the same WiFi network.
Step 4.
On the StoreHub app > Settings > Customer Display, toggle the Turn on Customer Display ON (make note of the Pairing PIN on this page as you'll need it later).
Step 5.
Set up your Customer-Facing Display Ads (refer to the steps below):
3.1.1 Set up your Customer-Facing Display Ads
Step 1.
In BackOffice > Promotions > Customer Display, choose to either + Add Customer Display Ad or select an existing one (if you made one already).
Step 2.
In the next page, you'll be able to Edit the Customer Display Ads. Choose the name, whether it's enabled or disabled, which store(s) you want to apply it to, and also specify whether the promo shown is in text or image form.
Step 3.
Once you're done, click Save and sync your iPad.
3.2 Setting up the Customer-Facing Display
If you have an iPad;
If you have an Android v8 and above;
If you have an Android v7 and below.
3.2.1 If you have an iPad:
Step 1.
Download the Customer-Facing Display app. Open the StoreHub Customer Display app on your iPad.
Step 2.
You'll see a page like the one below. Tap Link to a New POS.Step 3.
Remember the PIN on your StoreHub POS app? Enter the 4-digit Pairing PIN in the window that appears.
Step 4.
You'll then see the orders on the StoreHub Customer Facing Display app appear exactly as per the StoreHub POS app!
Step 5.
If you need to close for the day and turn off your iPad or if you lose the WiFi signal, you can repeat the steps above when the connection resumes to link it again.
If you need to re-link, press and hold the Powered by StoreHub button on the bottom left corner to open a new popup, then tap Re-Link > Link to a New POS.
3.2.2 If you have an Android Tablet that is version 8 and above:
Step 1.
Download the Customer-Facing Display app.
Step 2.
Open the StoreHub Customer Display app on your Android Tablet (version 8 and above). You'll see a page like the one below, then tap Link to a New POS.
Step 3.
Remember the PIN on your StoreHub POS app? Enter the 4-digit Pairing PIN in the window that appears.
Step 4.
You'll then see the orders on the StoreHub Customer Facing Display app appear exactly as per the StoreHub POS app!
Step 5.
If you need to close for the day and turn off your Android Tablet or if you lose the Wi-Fi signal, you can repeat the steps above when the connection resumes to link it again.
If you need to re-link, press and hold the Powered by StoreHub button on the bottom left corner to open a new popup, then tap Re-Link.
3.2.3 If you have an Android Tablet that is version 7 and below:
Step 1.
Download the Customer-Facing Display app.
Step 2.
Open the StoreHub Customer Display app on your Android Tablet (version 7 and below); you'll see a page like the one below. Tap Link Manually to IP Address.
Step 3.
Look for the IP Address from your StoreHub POS app.
On the Customer Display app, enter the IP Address in the window that appears.
Step 4.
You'll then see the orders on the StoreHub Customer Facing Display app appear exactly as per the StoreHub POS app!
Step 5.
If you need to close for the day and turn off your Android Tablet or if you lose the Wi-Fi signal, you can repeat the steps above when the connection resumes to link it again.
If you need to re-link, press and hold the Powered by StoreHub button on the bottom left corner to open a new popup, then tap Re-Link.
Note:
i) The images should ideally be 600x400 pixels
ii) It takes about 60 seconds for multiple images to cycle
iii) It takes about 2 minutes of inactivity for the picture to become a full-screen screensaver
