Introduction
You're now able to add serial numbers to products that require them! Track serialized items in your inventory and identify sold items for recall and warranty purposes.
If you switch your inventory type to Serialized, the stock level will be reset, and the product will not work with current Stock Management features, except for Purchase Orders.

Step 2.
Scroll down to Inventory > tick the Track Stock Level box > Save.
Step 3.
When the page reloads, scroll all the way down and at Inventory Type, choose Serialized.
Adding or removing serialized numbers
If you'd like to add more or remove serial numbers, you can do so easily in the BackOffice. Here's how:
Step 1.
Go to your BackOffice > Products > Manage Products > Click a Product to edit.
Step 2.
Scroll down to Inventory > Click Manage Serial Numbers for the relevant store(s).
Step 3.
A 'Manage Serial Numbers' popup box will appear for you to enter the serial numbers, then Save.
Note: Please make sure your serial numbers are unique for variants of each parent product.

Stock Management with serialized numbers
As this feature is still in beta, serial numbers will not work with all Stock Management features, except Purchase Orders.
Purchase Orders and serialized numbers
When you create a Purchase Order and add a product with a serialized number, a popup will appear, stating the product is using the Serialized inventory type and will not update your stock levels when this purchase order is received and completed.
However, your stock quantity will be determined by the number of serial numbers saved when you go back to Manage Products and add the serial numbers in.
Warranty Claims
Serialized numbers can help you when it comes to Warranty claims. Serial numbers can be assigned to your products and used as reference when transactions are made - particularly useful for products and services! Just type in the serial number at the search bar at the Transactions page, and you’ll see the transaction with that serial number number sold.
