For stores with large inventories, using StoreHub’s CSV import can make managing items a more efficient process. Add your items to the list all at once using this nifty feature!
In this article, we will go through managing a Stock Take by importing CSV files.
In order to easily insert your stock count into Stock Take, we need to first download the items to be counted.
In your Stock Take (BackOffice > Stock Management > Stock Take), click ‘Export Uncounted Items’. Your list of items should be downloaded.
Open the downloaded file using a spreadsheet editor. You will see that the file consists of all your products with their details. Update the counted quantity column, and save the file once you’re done.
If you can remember the SKU of your product, instead of downloading the full list of your products, you could download a blank template and key in your products. To do that, at your Stock Take, select Import Items by CSV, and click CSV template to download it.
Open the downloaded template, and delete the test product within it.
At Products > Manage Products, search for your items, and click Export to CSV. Within the downloaded file, at the most right column, you should see the Product ID.
At Products > Manage Products, search for your items, and click into the item. Take a look at the URL, the group of text behind id= is the Product ID for the product.
Once all changes have been specified and saved, you are ready to import the file back into the BackOffice. At your Stock Take (BackOffice > Stock Management > Stock Take), select Import Items by CSV, and click Select File. Select the file, and click Import.
If your items were imported successfully, you should see your items on your Counted Items list. Review the list, and click Save once you are satisfied.
However, if your items were not imported successfully, click download this CSV to download and review the errors. Open the downloaded CSV, and you should see the reason for the import failure. Fix the errors at the original file, and try importing again.
