Introduction
Use StoreHub’s Promotions feature to run sales and promotions at your outlet(s).
In this article, we'll explore how to set discounts on products by percentage (%).
Note: This feature is only available in the Advanced & Pro plans.
How to Set Discounts on Products by Percentage
Step 1.
At your BackOffice, go to Promotions, and click New Promotion.
Step 2.
Type in the name of your promotion. This name would appear on the iPad POS register when the promotion is applied to the transaction.
Step 3.
Select which store(s) your promotion is applied to.
Step 4.
Tick ‘Enable’ if you would like the promotion to be applied immediately.
Step 5.
Select the effective time frame of your promotion. Start with selecting the start and end dates - if the end date is left blank, the promotion will not end.
Step 6.
Select the starting (from) and ending (to) time. If promotion is to last for the entire day, it will happen from 00:00 to 24:00.
This discount takes a certain percentage off the specific promotional item(s).
Step 1.
Select the type of discount.
Step 2.
Type in the discounted value in percentage.
Step 3.
Indicate how this promotion is applied, by filling up the relevant fields.
Notes on how promotion is applied:
- All Orders: Promotion applies on all items within all transactions.
- Orders over or equal to: Discount is only applicable for items within orders that are over/equal to the specified amount.
Products of Category:
Select the category that the promo is applied to. When there is more than one category (Category A and Category B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the categories (Category A OR Category B). - specific product.
Indicate minimum and maximum purchase that is required, before the discount is given. "Minimum" refers to the least amount of products that need to be purchased before the promotion applies. "Maximum" refers to the largest amount of products that can be purchased before the promotion does not apply.
If the minimum and maximum fields are left blank, it means that discount is applied to any amount purchased.
Products with Tags:
Select the tags that the promo is applied to. When there is more than one tag (Tag A and Tag B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the tags (Tag A OR Tag B).

Select the products that the promo is applied to. When there is more than one product (Product A and Product B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the products (Product A OR Product B).

Customer with Tags:
Select customer tags to apply the promotion. When there is more than one customer tag (Customer Tag A and Customer Tag B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the group of customers with those tags (Customer Tag A OR Customer Tag B).
Specific Product Purchase
If your promotion requires a specific product to be purchased first, tick the 'Require Specific Product Purchase' checkbox. A new row of fields will appear:
- Specify products of a Category, Tag or specific products.
- Select the Minimum quantity to be purchased.
