Introduction
Use StoreHub’s Promotions feature to run sales and promotions at your outlet(s).
In this article, we'll explore setting up the Buy X product, get Y product for FREE.
Note: This feature is only available in the Advanced & Pro plans.
How to Set Promotions
Step 1.
From your BackOffice, go to Promotions, and click New Promotion.

Step 2.
Type in the name of your promotion. This name would appear on the iPad POS register when the promotion is applied on the transaction.
Step 3.
Select which stores your promotion is applied to.
Step 4.
Tick ‘Enable’ if you would like the promotion to be applied immediately.

Step 5.
Select the effective time frame of your promotion. Start with selecting the start and end dates - if the end date is left blank, the promotion will not end.
Step 6.
Select the starting (from) and ending (to) time. If promotion is to last for the entire day, it will happen from 00:00 to 24:00.

Buy X Get Y For Free
This type of promotion allows you to indicate free items with purchase.
Step 1.
Select the type of discount.
Step 2.
Note that promotion of buy X get Y for free applies for items within the indicated product categories, tags or specific items. For example, if the promotion set is Buy 5 Get 1 Free, your customers will need to select 6 items, and the lowest-priced item among the 6 will be given a 100% discount.

Step 3.
Indicate the quantity of purchase required (X) before obtaining a certain quantity without extra charges (Y).
Notes on how promotions are applied
Products of Category:
Select the category that the promo is applied to. When there is more than one category (Category A and Category B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the categories (Category A OR Category B).
Indicate quantity of purchase that is required in order for the promotion to apply. Let's say there are 2 categories selected (Category A and Category B) and the quantity required is 2. This means that they need to buy 2 items of either Category A or Category B before another Y item is/are free-of-charge.

Products with Tags:
You can indicate more than 1 type of product for your combo set/package/bundle. Select the tags that the promo is applied to. When there is more than one tag (Tag A and Tag B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the tags (Tag A OR Tag B).
Indicate quantity of purchase that is required in order for promo to apply. Let's say there are 2 product tags selected (Tag A and Tag B) and the quantity required is 2. This means that they need to buy 2 items of either Tag A or Tag B before another Y item is/are free-of-charge.

Specific Products:
Select the products that the promo is applied to. When there is more than one product (Product A and Product B), the promotion will apply to EITHER of the products (Product A OR Product B).
Indicate quantity of purchase that is required in order for promo to apply. Let's say there are 2 products selected (Product A and Product B) and the quantity required is 2. This means that they need to buy 2 items of either Product A or Product B before another Y item is/are free-of-charge.

How do refunds work for Configurable Promotions?
Store owners are free to set up the store’s return policy. Refund amounts can be configured when processing returns.
