Introduction
Shift management is important to ensure proper cash flow and account management. In this guide, learn how to open your shift at the beginning of the day.
How to Open Shift
Step 1.
Sign in to the StoreHub app using your unique 4-digit PIN.

Step 2.
Tap on Open Register.

Step 3.
Enter your opening amount (also called the cash float), and tap ‘Enter’. Tap ‘Yes’ to confirm.


Step 5.
Your shift is now open!
Tip: We have added support if you'd like to have the cash drawer open automatically when closing shift.
To do so, go to BackOffice > Settings > Stores > Select a store > Select Open Cash Drawer When Closing Shift > Yes.
How to Close Shift
Step 1.
Sign in to the StoreHub app using your unique 4-digit PIN.

Step 2.
Tap the Menu.
Step 3.
Select Close Shift.

Step 4.
A new screen will appear. Tap on ‘Close Register’.
Tip: We have added support if you'd like to have the cash drawer open automatically when closing shift.
To do so, go to BackOffice > Settings > Stores > Select a store > Select Open Cash Drawer When Closing Shift > Yes.

Step 5.
Enter your closing amount, and click ‘Enter’. Tap ‘Yes’ to confirm.
Note: Your closing amount is the amount of cash you have inside the cash drawer at the point of closing the shift.


Step 7.
Your shift is now closed!

My cashier wrongly counted the balance monies in the cash drawer. Mistake was only discovered after entering the closing. How do we rectified this mistake? - flav

Should the closing amount include the float as well? In the example, 200 was the float and 500 is the closing balance. Is it correct to assume that 300 is the sale for the day?
